The Weatherman Hosts Channel: Forecast, A Music & Wellness Event To Soothe Your Senses
Heading out for a scene event can sometimes feel like a bull-horned, head-on affair that zaps you dry till you’re zonked – but not this one. As you get worn out (and wiser), the allure of having a wholesome and rejuvenating party experience becomes more enticing. We need to take better care of ourselves in our jaunty escapades. We need to listen better to our minds and bodies and let loose in a sustainable way. Enter Channel: Forecast, an upcoming music and wellness event orchestrated by The Weatherman, and he’s got a programme that will have you feeling as right as rain.
Nestled in the artistic enclave of Pearl’s Hill Terrace, Channel: Forecast blooms with the support of Wild Pearl as an event and venue partner. Far from your average party event, the wellness-focused initiative invites you like an oasis with healing powers. It comes designed with chill-out stages, tea huts and mindfulness workshops with the cohesive energy of a miniature festival you’d wanna escape into.
This fusion concept of music-meets-tranquility has been a brewing passion project of The Weatherman as of late, and Channel: Forecast is a nascent yet acute manifestation of these goals. Through the years, The Weatherman has amassed knowledge of how music and guided movement can lead to remedy and therapy; lessons he intends to share with his growing Personal Space active meditation sessions. He’s transcended the role of a conventional Singapore DJ, and has fast become a shimmering Southeast Asian export with his limitless mastery of sound (he’s even kicking off Vietnam’s Equation Festival next month). In short, The Weatherman knows a thing or two about the healing potential of music, and he now gives that gift to you.
Channel: Forecast showcases a programme of music and wellness activities, and that includes an embodied dance workshop featuring sounds from The Weatherman and movements from Julia Vasko, a trauma-informed somatic touch practitioner and embodiment facilitator. Bring along a yoga mat, and flow along with the guided session to feel renewed. The all-day event also promises performances from other prominent ambient-inclined artists, including hybrid sets from Bongomann and Kin Leonn, and a closing set from Germany’s CuCiCuCi. Pair all that with non-alcoholic herbal elixirs from Boujee Botanicals and 10% off food from Lavi Taco in Kult Yard, and you have an all-rounded journey sculpted to soothe.
