Cherry Discotheque Unveils A New Diner And Supper Club Concept Open Past 10.30pm
Clubs in Singapore continue to adapt in these turbulent waters, in spite of recently announced pilots for a select few in January 2021. Without waiting to see if these stringent measures will prove successful, ravegrounds like Cherry Discotheque are taking the initiative to reinvent and rejuvenate themselves. The party lair has now jumped on the pivot bandwagon with the introduction of its new F&B concepts within its subterranean premises.
Keeping in line with its devotion to the kitschy ’80s, the retro-inspired club has reopened its doors as Cherry Diner, a converted eatery taking cues from food trends and pop culture. Mingle amidst neon-lit hues and nostalgic decor while tucking into an extensive menu of burgers, hot dogs, pizzas and Asian grub like karaage and bibimbap. It’s pretty much a greatest hits of comfort foods, not unlike the genre-flipping music curation the youths have come to adore about the debaucherous den.
On weekends past 10.30pm, Cherry shifts gears again and transforms into Cherry Supper Club, a new haven for those not fond of heading home early. In accordance with the government’s enforced rules, the concept won’t be selling booze past the cut-off time of 10.30pm, but will instead keep you up all night with its enticing range of mocktails and desserts. Burnt cheesecakes and waffle stacks at midnight doesn’t sound half bad one bit.
With everything still up in the air, who really knows when venues like Cherry will be restored to their original form? But till then, this imaginative establishment is embracing this new frontier with zest, and it’s keeping the spirit alive for the community it holds dear.
