15-Min Flash Mix E31: Senthil Kicks Off The Year With A Minimal House Sojourn
New year, new season of Life In Arpeggio’s 15-Min Flash Mix series. Since it launched, we’ve witnessed unexpected expeditions and mind-boggling masterclasses from invited local DJs. We’ve had analogue techno trips, loungey jazz sessions, ambient sanctuaries, vinyl-only Asian boogie and even hardstyle onslaughts. With so much talent overflowing in the scene, who knows what we’ll get in 2023?
We kick off the year with Senthil, an emerging selector who’s a familiar face in the scene. Senthil officially began his DJ journey just last year, and he’s already scored gigs at Upstairs, as well as pop-up events like Friendly Waters and Last Saturdays. In 2022, he became a bridge between the scenes of Singapore and Vietnam, honing his chops as a regular soundtracker at Mirage in Hanoi. He’d go on to link up local techno DJs, Deen and Haan, with performances at The Warehouse (also in Hanoi), a venue where he scored a milestone gig as a support act for Rey&Kjavik.
For the 15-Min Flash Mix, Senthil delivers a pocket of intricate and delicate house music, sweeping with minimal arrangements and micro sentiments. Think sturdy yet subdued basslines and distant fleeting melodies that hover like a foggy memory. It’s mellow and entrancing with the magic of dizziness at dawn, emulating the vibe of a sleepless afterparty.
So don’t sleep on this hype. This is Senthil for our first 15-Min Flash Mix of the year.
