[UPDATE] Garden Beats flaunts an ascent that continues to trickle high, with a beefed-up lineup abundant in international names and local hotshots. The ongoing Coronavirus will not rain on its parade.

Added to the bill are the deep, entrancing soundscapes of Viken Arman, the Burning Man-seasoned textures of Crussen, and the cosmos-surfing funk of The Illustrious Blacks.

On the local front, the diversity and eminence is just as impressive. Slated for a B2B are industry pioneers, Brendon P and KFC, set to put on a masterclass of house and disco. Ice Cream SundaysBongomann and Toppings are on for another jolly back-to-back, as well as the energetic duo of James Selva and JustMack. DJ Aurora represents A Phat Cat Collective, while Orio carries the flag of Fat Fish Familia at the seventh edition of Garden Beats at Fort Canning Park on 29 February 2020.

Fresh off their ambitious double album, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost, Foals makes their long-awaited return to our shores as headliners of Garden Beats 2020 – a booking that all indie-rock devotees are losing their marbles for. Joining them is the house duo of Giolì & Assia who incorporate live elements like vocals, guitars and hang drums.

Sabrina Claudio and Blond:ish, unfortunately, have had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts – not because of the ongoing Coronavirus situation. In an official statement, Sunshine Nation will be implementing stringent safety and health measures such as Hygiene Hub stations across the festival grounds, temperature-measuring stations and stationed ambulances and first-aid tents.

In the spirit of sustainability, Garden Beats is also an eco-friendly event that was certified as Singapore’s first carbon-netural music festival in 2018. With this, it’s banning single-use plastics and providing reusable tin cups on-site, allowing all to party responsibly and with a healthy conscience. This is also the first time Garden Beats is removing its picnic element, whereby punters could previously bring their own nosh to the event. This is being enforced to discourage guests from bringing any single-use plastics to the festival.

Coupled with art installations, roving acts, food booths and numerous other fringe activities, the growth of Garden Beats looks riper than ever.
