Contrary to what you might hear, the Singapore scene’s still very much a party hotspot cooking up a hotpot of global club sounds. Without discrediting the pull and prodigiousness of our own homegrown talents, our city’s credibility stays lofty with the recognition of international DJs who swing by and international entities that want to augment their reputation on this tiny yet thriving end of the world. The latest of the latter to propel off our +65 launchpad is Outlook Festival, the Croatian juggernaut of the festival circuit that’s peddled its devotion to bass music since launching in 2008. And if there’s one local collective that knows a thing or two about bass music who’s also ready to give ’em a helping hand, it’s North East Social Club.

With its affiliation and proliferation of UK club sounds, North East Social Club is the apt purveyor and now-partner of the big-time event. Outlook Festival makes its mark here for the first time in Singapore with its Outlook Origins sub-brand, extending its lauded country-hopping club tour that gives local venues a taste of the Tisno spectacle. If you ever wanted to experience the energy of Outlook, here’s a ticket worth clinching.

NESC and Outlook Origins come together for a first-of-its-kind collaboration on 12 April at IKI, uniting local and regional talents with Outlook ambassadors. Representing and headlining is Manchester’s Silva Bumpa, known for his pouncy and bouncy selections of UK garage, bassline and speed garage. The Rinse FM resident has opened for the likes of Interplanetary Criminal and Soul Mass Transit System, both alumni of NESC gigs. With its crosshairs locked on regional camaraderie as well, NESC has also invited the Breakboyclub DJs from Kuala Lumpur – Mia, Traction Control, and Alfie Rrari – armed with their bag of bass-loaded weaponry. NESC’s own TASHASAN fittingly completes the lineup.
