Blackout Agency’s Signature RITUAL Series Turns 10 With A New Residency At RASA

The art of growth is an adept balancing act between preserving one’s roots and traditions while embracing the inevitability of change. That’s the current plot point of the 10-year journey of RITUAL, the signature series of Blackout Agency amidst its melange of multifaceted initiatives. Over their decade-long existence, RITUAL events have become a coveted yet sporadic scene staple, limiting their appearance to keep the novelty fresh. That’s one of the reasons why RITUAL’s been able to maintain its sway, coupled with a reputed track record of international invitees such as &Me, Culoe De Song, Eric Volta and Tim Sweeney.

But even sweet-spot formulas need to change sometimes, and Blackout Agency is taking up the challenge by announcing a new chapter for RITUAL. In light of its 10th year, RITUAL will now be launching a residency at RASA, the scene’s latest it-venue and a suitable habitat for Blackout’s baby. To kick it off, Blackout has announced the return of John Talabot, the industry tastemaker and unfathomable genre-blender who’s been a welcome fixture at Blackout events. Talabot will be supported by Debbie Chia and Blackout’s own Zig Zach on the RASA Floor, while Chris (Wild Pearl), Hookstyle and KFC take the reins in the Hall.

“While we don’t host these events often, it remains one of my favourite nights. Rituals are sacred – they hold deep meaning for those who perform them, which is why I’ve always waited for the right space and moment to bring this residency back,” shares Zig Zach on the next step for RITUAL. “Over the years, RITUAL has found a home in various venues like Kyo, The Great Escape, Substation, and IKI, and now we’re thrilled to call RASA our new home for the foreseeable future. Moving forward, we’ll be hosting bi-monthly events, welcoming back some familiar faces while also introducing newer artists we’ve been keeping an eye on for a while. It’s an exciting new chapter, and we can’t wait to share it with the community.”
