"X" – A Decade Of Dance: Blackout Agency Goes Big For Its 10th Anniversary Warehouse Gig
It takes fighting spirit and ironclad resolve to keep the lights on as a nightlife promoter in Singapore, something Zig Zach knows far too well as head honcho of Blackout Agency. While many others have dropped the ball or lost steam in understandably rigorous circumstances, Blackout has accomplished the no-easy task of surviving and thriving for 10 years. The promotion pushing industry-respected nights like Ritual and Escape 56 is now approaching the decade mark, and it’s pulling off an anniversary bash in the only way it knows how – with bravado, class, and 110% dedication to peak dancefloor jubilation.
Blackout’s been keeping revellers on their toes with its string of pop-up warehouse parties, and in that regard, it delivers with yet another signature secret location. Similar to its past two-day affairs like its Escape 56 “Midnight Gospel” anniversary earlier in April, “X”– A Decade Of Dance – or so it’s called – presents a double whammy combo of international phenoms supported by local deckblazers.
On 6 September, Blackout goes big with performances from Leon Vynehall whose love for percussive house music has made him a staple on Ninja Tune, and the effervescent Moxie who’s prominently held residencies at BBC Radio 1 and NTS Radio. They will be opened by Sivilian Affairs firecracker, Miss Lil. On 7 September, Wild Pearl booker and scene favourite Leland warms up for Klasse Wrecks’ Luca Lozano, who’s been eloquent in the ’90s rave revival with progressive house nuances. And completing the headliner lineup on the same evening is one of Blackout’s best weapons, and that’s the returning tour de force masterstroke of John Talabot – if you’ve had the privilege of catching his transformative, trip-you-up journeys, here’s another Blackout blessing.
