15-Min Flash Mix E17: Jace Goes To Space With A Cosmic Set To Wrap Up The Year

Wouldn’t it be swell to just hop onto a spaceship and escape into the cosmos considering this blackhole of a year we’ve had? If you’re not bidding adieu to 2021 with one of these New Year’s Eve celebrations, then you can load up this year-end episode of the 15-Min Flash Mix by Jace, a selector who’s beginning to shoot for the stars.

Jace is the DJ alias of Jacelyn Zhen, who you might also know as visual artist and designer, Bbblob. When she’s not imprinting her adventurous imagination on murals, prints and sculptures, she applies her world of colour to her burgeoning skills on the decks. Jace’s entry into the circuit gained traction this year, being active on live-streams by Ke’lektiv and Love.Play, and on SoundCloud with a couple of genre-crossing mixes in her bag.

For the 15-Min Flash Mix, Jace goes for a spry and cosmic set. She drops numbers from the ebullient departments of indie dance and space disco, with inclusions ranging from Prins Thomas to Catz ’N Dogz. Bursting with chipper hooks, swaying riffs and Italo-influenced melodies, hers is a mix that would have everyone flooding to the front of the decks in a (hopefully) not-so-distant future. While we can only hope for 2022, in the meantime, turn it up for Jace as she takes us to space.
