We’ve now come to the big 3-0 of Life In Arpeggio’s 15-Min Flash Mix, and behind the wheels of this milestone 30th episode is the astute and adventurous Dexter Colt.
Formerly known as William J with years of industry experience under his belt, Dexter Colt is widely known as a resident selector of homegrown label, Darker Than Wax. The burgeoning producer has also been instrumental in pushing the operations of the label, co-hosting signature podcasts such as REKOD, and has even represented the crew at radio shows like Rinse FM, Worldwide FM, and Noods Radio.
The seasoned DJ has also gone international with performances in Tokyo, Bali, Shanghai and Seoul (Credit: Matin Latif)
For this mix, Dexter Colt stuffs a whopping 10 tracks into the tight span of 15 minutes. It’s housey. It’s got electro. It’s got lo-fi dreaminess and metropolitan flair. There is a beating pulse that hammers through this set, and rhythmic fluctuations bursting with spontaneity and surprises. Think highs and lows, peaks and lulls, back and forth. It’s a set that feels organic and sentient, guided by the wisdom of its swift-mixing creator.
