Within the local music scene, the Fred Perry brand has always been more than just a clothing label. A champion of music, Fred Perry has thrown numerous exceptional events over the years under its Sub-Sonic Live and Subculture Live series, held at off-the-beaten-path venues including an abandoned basketball court, an open-air lawn near Fort Canning, and even a futsal park hidden beneath a flyover. Its most recent event was another milestone, taking place at DECK with a lineup comprising Charlie Lim, Coming Up Roses and Ice Cream Sundays. These events emerged radically with their trendsetting nature, and they continue to hold a special place in the hearts of gig-goers.

Even in the midst of a pandemic, the team behind Fred Perry continues to colour the scene with the return of its Subculture Live show, presented digitally for the first time ever via the live-stream format. With a studded track record of promoting illustrious acts in the past such as MONSTER CAT, sub:shaman and ANECHOIS, the series remains discerning in its selection of performers for this edition, this time pulling acts from around the region.

From our shores are scene favourites, M1LDL1FE, treasured for their peppy guitar hooks and on-stage dynamism; as well as entrancing indie-pop siren, Linying, whose seraphic vocals will tug at your heartstrings. Also featured on the regional lineup are fun-to-watch Malaysian ska outfit, Gerhana Skacinta; pugnacious Malaysian garage-rock revivalists, No Good; and Indonesia’s Reality Club for more roller-coaster indie-rock antics.
