Five Years Of Integrity Records: The Local Label Releases A Mega 25-Track Compilation

Our little red dot has always been an epicentre of cosmopolitan connections, and that includes the global canvas of music thanks to Singaporean record labels like Integrity Records. The imprint has established itself beyond the perception of an unassuming Southeast Asian label, providing a home for fresh material from acts across continents. Integrity Records has helped shape Singapore as a first-world hub for electronic music, and its success is also attributable to its captain who’s stayed the course, Eddie Niguel.

Eddie Niguel is a household name amongst the electronic community, with an ironclad reputation that launched in 1996. He’s supported the likes of Adam Beyer and Steve Lawler as a DJ, and his personal productions have been played out by industry mainstays like Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Dixon and KiNK on his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. It’s safe to say that Eddie’s garnered quite a professional network, and it’s certainly aided him today as the label owner of Integrity Records.

Since its launch in 2016, Integrity Records has unquestionably amassed an impressive catalogue. And to commemorate its fifth year, it’s now released 5 Years of Integrity (The Essential), a whopping 25-track compilation assembled by artistes from its roster. These are tracks that stretch the boundaries of house and techno, ranging from peak-time bangers to more scenic swerves, with qualities encompassing melodic Detroitian textures, dub-soaked layers, minimal frameworks and heavier, warehouse vibes. This milestone collection features originals and remixes from signees including Kocleo, Dachshund, The Model, Fabrice Lig, Panteros666, Stefan Weise; and naturally, several from Eddie himself.

“More than a dozen artists selected five tracks each from the label’s catalogue, music that they felt defined the label,” the label explains the process on its official Bandcamp page. “The result is 25 definitive tracks that not only showcase the label's aesthetic but also perhaps display why the Singapore-based label has been a success story.”
