More Than A Store: Iconic Music Retailer Swee Lee Unveils New Lifestyle Outlet In Clarke Quay

For many aspiring homegrown musicians, this was the institution where they might’ve snagged their first Fender or Roland synthesiser, BOSS pedal or Marshall amp. Swee Lee is reputedly a name synonymous with the local music community, established as far back as 1946 with a storied history of being a musical instrument distributor. With decades of service notched, Swee Lee has evolved to become an omni-channel instrument and lifestyle retailer, with several branches located all across Southeast Asia. All musicians need that stepping stone, and Swee Lee has indeed been instrumental in providing that first nudge.

Despite its deep-seated roots, Swee Lee now shows that it’s far from a dated establishment, growing with the times to announce its newest store at Clarke Quay. The 506 sqm outlet is the latest addition to the Swee Lee Singapore family that has other stores in The Star Vista and Bras Basah. Residing within a warehouse unit in the renowned nightlife district, the new Swee Lee store promises that it’s more than a retailer that stocks instruments, effects, accessories, software and other musical paraphernalia. Enhancing the retail experience is an all-rounded lifestyle section that peddles merchandise from top brands, vinyl listening stations and flexible spaces that function as pop-up performance stages, product showcases and community activations. In addition to experiencing these exclusive Swee Lee events, this section also features an in-store cafe and bar serving bites, brews, beers and cocktails from the award-winning Employees Only.
