The boomy rumble of a sub-bass kick. The fierce frivolity of an oscillating synth wobble. How about the tickle of syncopated urban hi-hats or the gritty articulation of a grime emcee. If these are all positively ringing alarm bells in your head, here’s an event series that has your number; more so, if you fancy the number 140 as your go-to tempo. In case you haven’t gotten the drift at this point, here’s a scene contender specialising in the sounds of UK bass and its affiliates. It’s high time you got to hear about Low End Hz.

Spearheaded by KRSTN who’s been a staunch advocate of the bass community for a while now – check out her 15-Min Flash Mix with us – Low End Hz is a concept dedicated to the niche yet adored ambit of UK bass sounds that’ve taken root in Singapore soil. Launched just last year, the series peddles the sounds of UK dubstep, grime, halftime drum & bass and other related genres that scratch that low-lying itch. It’s a global sound favoured by industry champions like Noisia, Skream, Nero and The Glitch Mob; so if that’s up your alley, tune into this frequency.

Low End Hz unleashes its third edition on 29 March at The Coup, and it’s put together a hefty lineup filled with scene veterans, fresh faces on the decks and even a couple of surprises. Leading the roster is a b2b set between KRSTN and fellow bass bandit B10N, along with performances from shaf and GOTHMYSTERYMAFIA. Joining them is a special homecoming appearance from electronic maverick Intriguant who’s been away in Berlin, and rapper TENGY on emcee duties in the style of UK bass and dub culture.
